I really like this vivid picture you use to depict the Greek Gods in the picture above. I feel using modern art to depict a certain character will help many students to better comprehend different stregths that each god had (by the way they appear). For example I can tell right away the first god is Zeus.
Rose you provide good point about children being drawn to the artwork. This is not so much modern art as more of a comic book style of drawing that will certainly appeal to children.
